1 – Is USCIS raising their filing fees for certain forms? Yes, effective April 1, 2024, nearly all USCIS filing fees for certain Forms will change. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/frequently-asked-questions-on-the-uscis-fee-rule The USCIS has not increased their filing fees since 2016. Generally, there is a $50 discount for those who choose to file their cases online compared to those paper-based filings.
2 -What is the new fee for Form I-539? Filing fees for Form I-539 are currently $370.00, or $455.00 if biometrics are required. Filing Form I-539 online (with/without biometrics) will increase to $420.00 as of 04/01/2024. Filing a paper-based Form I-539 will increase to $470.00 as of 04/01/2024.
3 – What is the new fee for Form I-765? Filing fees for Form I-765 are currently $410.00. They will increase to $470.00 for an online filing, or $520.00 for a paper-based filing as of 04/01/2024.
4 – What is the new fee for Form I-485? Filing fees for Form I-485 are currently $1,225 including biometrics. They will change to $1,440.00 which includes biometrics as of 04/01/2024.
This filing fee will NO LONGER INCLUDE the ancillary benefits of I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) as those forms will now have their own separate filing fees.
What about for children under 14? Currently, it’s $750.00 to file Form I-485. As of 04/01/2024, it will be $950.00. This filing fee will NO LONGER INCLUDE the ancillary benefits of I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) as those forms will now have their own separate filing fees.
5 – What is the new fee for Form I-129F? Filing fees for Form I-129F are currently $535.00. Form I-129F will increase to $675.00 as of 04/01/2024.
6 – What is the new fee for Form I-129? Filing fees for Form I-129 are currently $460.00 for nearly all nonimmigrant visa classifications. Form I-129 will increase to $780.00 for Form I-129 filed for H-1B status, and will remain at $460.00 for small employers and nonprofits. Form I-129 will increase to $1,385.00 for L1 status, and will increase to $695.00 for small employers and nonprofits. Form I-129 will increase to $1,055.00 for O1 status, and will increase to $530.00 for small employers and nonprofits.
The H-1B registration process fee? The H-1B Registration process fee will remain at $10.00 for FY2025, registrations filed from March 6, 2024, through March 22, 2024. However, the H-1B Registration process fee will increase to $215.00 for each registration submitted for FY2026, the registration period beginning in March of 2025.
Asylum Program Fee – USCIS has implemented an Asylum Program Fee to assist with funding related to the administration and processing of asylum applications. A $600 fee is now required for employment-based applications (Forms I-129 and I-140). Small employers and nonprofits will pay a discounted $300 filing fee and nonprofits will be exempted from the Asylum Program Fee.
7 – What is the new fee for Form I-140? The Filing fee for Form I-140 is currently $700.00. Form I-140 will increase to $715.00 as of 04/01/2024.

Small employers and nonprofits will pay a discounted $300 filing fee and nonprofits will be exempted from the Asylum Program Fee.
8 – What is the new fee for Form I-290B, an appeal or motion to reopen? Form I-290B currently costs $675.00 to file. Effective 04/01/2024, the form will cost $800.00 to file.
9 – What is the new fee for Form N400? The Filing fee for Form N400 is currently $640.00 or $725.00 if biometrics are required. Filing Form N400 (with/without biometrics) online will increase to $710.00 as of 04/01/2024. Filing a paper-based N400 (with/without biometrics) will increase to $760.00 as of 04/01/2024.
The N400 filing fee for applicants with household income between 150 and 400% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) is currently $320.00 without biometrics, $405.00 with biometrics. As of 04/01/2024, an applicant filing the N400 based on the household income listed above will pay $380.00.
10 – I heard that even the fee that you have to pay after your Interview at the Consulate is going to increase. This is correct?
How much is the new USCIS immigrant fee? The current immigrant fee for production and mailing of the Green Card is $220.00. It will increase to $235.00 effective 04/01/2024.
