On Tuesday, June 30th, the Governor of Delaware, Jack Markell signed a new law, allowing certain undocumented immigrants living in Delaware to gain driving privileges.
This new law allows for a driving privilege card to be issued to undocumented immigrants who:
(1) have filed Delaware state income tax returns for the last two (2) years; OR (2) have lived in Delaware and have been claimed as a dependent on a Delaware state income tax return.
As part of the new law, in June 2016, a state task force will review the effects of this driving program and recommend changes as needed.
