The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a news alert (10/3/14) advising that some of their customers have received more than one biometrics (fingerprints) appointment notice.

*Please note that we are not discussing a duplicate appointment notice as that happens as well, but an actual second fingerprint appointment notice requesting that the applicant appear for a second time at a different date and time.

They advise that if you have already shown up and completed a biometrics appointment and you receive a second appointment notice to please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. They also stated if you have already received two appointments and have not attended the first, to bring the notices for both appointments with you and they will let you know if the second appointment is needed.

California Service Center (CSC)

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will be holding a stakeholder teleconference on Thursday, October 9, 2014 between 11:00am to 12:30 pm (EST). The subject of the event will be a discussion of H-1B filing tips and eligibility requirements for Religious Workers and will include Q&A sessions.

This teleconference will be broken into two 45-minute sessions. The first session will be from 11:00am – 11:45 am and will cover H-1B filing tips. The second session will be from 11:45 am – 12:30 pm and will cover eligibility requirements for religious workers. For more information on this teleconference please review the Meeting Invitation.

Hundreds of Immigration activists and protestors marched from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office building in downtown Washington D.C. to the White House on Thursday, August 28, 2014. The Rally, “National Day to Fight for Families” was organized by CASA de Maryland and CASA de Virginia. Both organizations are dedicated to helping immigrant communities in their region. They called on President Obama to stop deportations of: Workers, Parents, and Children. They strongly believe that stopping the deportation of unaccompanied children from Central America should be a top priority.
