U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) states that Temporary Worker Visas are for persons who want to enter the United States for employment lasting a fixed time, only temporary and not considered permanent, with no path to immigration. Each of these visas requires the prospective U.S. employer not the worker to first file a petition with the USCIS. For more information review the USCIS web page, “Temporary (Nonimmigrant) Workers”, which includes details on available Temporary (Nonimmigrant) Worker Classifications!

The New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the city has filed a lawsuit against the bus companies that delivered or helped deliver bus loads asylum-seekers to their city from Texas. New York City is seeking over $700 million from 17 transportation companies for the care of these migrants. The Mayor stated, “These companies have violated state law by not paying the cost of caring for these migrants, and that’s why we are suing to recoup approximately $700 million already spent to care for migrants sent here in the last two years by Texas.”

The White House, Biden Administration has expressed to members of Congress that they are open to a new border expulsion law, mandatory detention and increasing deportations! This is all being done to get congressional Republicans to back President Biden’s aid to Ukraine which is in the same spending bill. This bill also includes aid to Israel!

Some of the most worrying ideas that are under consideration are:

  • Prohibiting entry into the U.S. and effectively “shutting down the border” to most noncitizens.
