The Department of State has released its latest Visa Bulletin.

The monthly Visa Bulletin has changed. The bulletin now summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers during the reported month for: “Application Final Action Dates” (consistent with prior Visa Bulletins) and “Dates for Filing Applications,” indicating when immigrant visa applicants should be notified to assemble and submit required documentation to the National Visa Center using Consular Processing (outside of the US) or file on their own with USCIS Form I-485 (within the US).

We wanted to find a new way to engage our reader base. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has expanded its Partnership with Social Security Administration (SSA)! Applicants filing for lawful permanent resident status will soon be able to apply for their Social Security Number (SSN) or replacement card as part of the adjustment of status application process, Form I-485. USCIS is in the process of revising Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status to include the additional questions needed to apply for an SSN or a replacement card.

USCIS Director, Ur M. Jaddou stated, “This expansion of our partnership with the Social Security Administration illustrates our commitment to operating our nation’s immigration system more efficiently to save applicants time,”

Question #1 – Naturalization

If my application for naturalization is denied by the USCIS, can I re-apply and how soon?

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, the Department of Homeland Security announced that they were designating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for the country of Haiti for 18 months, from August 3, 2021 until February 3, 2023. This designation of TPS is based upon ongoing armed conflict and extraordinary conditions in Haiti making return un-safe.
